What do customers ask about the Diono Radian car seats?

What comes in the box?
Included in the box is the all-new Radian® 3R SafePlus Car Seat, Instruction Manual, a SafeStop, Cup Holder, Harness Pads, Rear Facing Base, and Rear-Facing Top Tether Strap.

Do the car seats fold flat?
The bottom of the car seat can fold for more compact storage. The car seat is approved by FAA for air travel.

Do I need to use the harness pads?
Use of the harness pads is optional but recommended for optimal comfort.

Does the handle on the head support also adjust the harness?
The handle is only used to adjust the height of the head support. It does not adjust the height of the harness straps.

How do I know if the harness is adjusted correctly for my rear-facing child?
The top of the harness should be placed at or just below the child’s shoulder when they are rear-facing. The harness should be snug. You should not be able to pinch the webbing at your child’s shoulders.

Can I purchase the rebound bar separately?
Rebound bars are available to purchase separately.

Does the rear-facing base need to be installed on my Diono car seat?
Yes, anytime a Diono car seat is installed rear facing the rear-facing base must be installed.

When should I lower the adjustable bottom?
The adjustable bottom should be lowered when the occupant is forward facing, using the 5-point harness system, and weighing 25 lb or more. The seat bottom should not be lowered while in rear-facing or booster mode.

When should I adjust the head wings when my child is rear-facing?
If rear-facing using the first 2 harness slots, raise the head support to an even level with the top of the seat. When using the 3rd harness slot, lower the head support so the bottom is even with your child’s jaw.

How can I tell if my child is too tall for the seat?
A rear-facing child is too tall for the seat if any of the following are true: they are 44in or taller, and there is 1 ½in or less between the top of their head and the top of the seat shell. When in forward-facing mode a child is too tall for the seat if they are 57in or taller, the tops of their ears are higher than the seat shell, or their shoulders are touching the bottom of the adjustable head support at its highest position.

How long can I use my Radian® car seat rear-facing?
Your car seats can be used rear-facing up to 50 lbs or 44 inches in height. We encourage rear-facing as long as possible since it is the safest way for children to travel!

How much room do I need to rear-face with a Radian® 3R SafePlus?
A rear-facing Radian® uses 30-36 inches (76 - 91.4 cm) between the vehicle's backseat and seat back of the front seat. This also depends on the vehicle's seat shape and contour.

Is it better to use Latch or belt for front-facing? What about rear-facing?
Both installations are safe and have been approved for forward-facing and rear-facing installations. Neither is safer than the other, use the one that gives the best installation.

Can I use a 3rd party harness for my special needs child?
Diono seats have not been tested with harnessing systems that are not included with the car seat. Do not use any 3rd party or after-market harness system with your Diono car seat.

Do you use flame retardants?
Our car seat fabrics are tested to ensure they do not contain any legally restricted harmful flame retardants. In order to meet Federal and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability, our car seat fabrics do contain flame retardants.

Do Diono Radian® car seats meet NHTSA standards?
Diono car seats and boosters are tested to meet or exceed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) per NHTSA, and Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS), per Transport Canada.

All orders are processed within 24-48 hours. Orders not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays will be shipped the next business day.

If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.

Returns

All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Our policy lasts up to 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, unopened and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

Additional non-returnable items: Gift cards, Downloadable software products, some health and personal care items.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable) Books with obvious signs of use CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl records that has been opened. Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Refunds (if applicable) Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable) If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank.
